North Florida Muse- Plein Air Workshop

Join Linda Blondheim at Fair Oaks Farm October of 2010 for a two day plein air experience.

It's been about two years since I taught a plein air workshop, so it's about time to do that again. My last one was at the Wood Farm in Evinston and we all had a terrific time there. This fall, I will be teaching at beloved Fair Oaks Farm, also in Evinston, FL. This farm is pristine and beautiful, with many amenities like indoor bathrooms, covered pavilions with tables for eating, a stage, where demos can be done,an upstairs studio and fabulous views. I'm going to be a bit more casual and flexible this time about the cirriculum, rotating between design, color mixing and value structure. We will study timing, with a quick start warm up, progressive paintings, always a good way to improve quickly, atmospherics, measuring, what to include, move around, and what to leave out. We will have a daily shop talk, Q&A session during lunch, and critique time too. I will squeeze in a demo on the first day, to last about an hour.I have structured this for advanced beginners through intermediate painters. I'm already excited about this one.

Sign up for this workshop on my web site HERE and for my virtual landscape painting classes.

Bartow paint Out 2009

Toni Treverton with her paintings at the Bartow Paint Out

Bartow FL, 2009 Plein Air Event was a huge success this year. We had great weather and over 40 painters particpated. We were open to experienced as well as artists just beginning at Plein Air, with the idea that we are turning people on to the great fun and challenge of painting out! Awards totaling over $2000. were given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and honorable mention winners. 3 Paintings were made into purchase awards. We will do it again next year. If you haven't ever been to Bartow, come on down. I think there is the most ecceletic collection of houses you will find anywhere in the state in the historic area...and the Historic Courthouse Museum, which hosted the show, is also a gem...and will add to your knowledge of settlers when you take the time to thru the museum. The exhibit of the art work will hang for Sale till Dec. 4th.

Thanks a bunch....hope you will come next year!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Voilart! Art Gallery and Studio Owners:

108 East Ft. King Street Jackie Schindehette

Ocala, Fl 34471 Sharon Crute

Gallery Opening: September 1, 2009

Opening Reception: September 4, 2009

5 PM-8PM

Florida landscape painter Jackie Schindehette and Equine artist Sharon Crute have partnered to help in the revitalization of historic downtown Ocala. Voilart! Art Gallery and Working Studio opens September 1, at 108 East Ft. King Street, just one block south of the Central Square. The public is invited to A Ribbon Cutting Opening Reception scheduled for Friday, September 4 from 5PM-8PM.

The gallery offers the finest in artistic excellence from these two accomplished artists. Sharon Crute’s dynamic paintings are a colorful and bold interpretation of the horse racing industry. Jackie Schindehette’s oil paintings give the viewer a glimpse of old Florida with sweeping vistas and moss draped oaks.

Voilart! Art Gallery is not only a gallery where people can see art at its best but is also a working studio offering the unique opportunity for the public to watch as these two artists actually create paintings from conception to the last brush stroke. Schindehette points out that “Sharon and I will be painting in the studio/gallery and invite people to stop by, sit a while, learn a little more about art and share our passion.”

“The gallery will showcase our own paintings, but we are also on a mission to actively support all cultural events within the community, educate the public about the arts and provide a powerful presence in the downtown art scene”, says co-owner Sharon Crute.

Crute and Schindehette have already begun to work for the arts community. The gallery will be headquarters for all painters participating in the World Wide Plein Air Event to be held September 12 in downtown Ocala from 7 AM - 5 PM. Maps of downtown charting the location of each artist will be handed out so the public can find and watch each artist working.

Original paintings by Crute and Schindehette will be available at Voilart! Art Gallery as well as giclee reproductions and gift items created from works by these two nationally recognized artists.
